Denomination of Origin Café de Colombia

It is a type of protection, distinctive within the scope of industrial property based on the indication of origin, applied to an agricultural and / or food product, such as Colombian Coffee and where its specific geographical name allows to identify that they come from said origin and whose quality is directly linked to that origin.

The DO distinguishes and protects Colombian Coffee from other similar products that are produced in other regions of the world. The characteristics that differentiate Colombian coffee are attributable to factors such as the soil, the height at which it is grown and the process of benefit with a high manual component carried out by the producers.

Resolution No 41083 of August 6, 2010 of the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce -SIC- By which a request for a Delegation is decided to authorize the use of the Denomination of Origin Café de Colombia.
